Emirates Transport and Fuelre4m have moved into an expanded second phase of Re4mx testing, focused on measurable fuel efficiency, emissions and vehicle performance.

The partnership follows pilot work that indicated fuel-efficiency improvements of 17–23% and substantial reductions across measured emissions. The next phase is designed to strengthen the evidence under repeatable, real-world fleet conditions.

“Our partnership with Fuelre4m marks a significant step in advancing technologies that reduce fuel consumption and emissions without compromising operational excellence.”Dominic Hagerty, Chief Transportation Officer, Emirates Transport

Initial testing included

  • Idle fuel-consumption analysis using OBD data.
  • Idle emissions measurement with a flue-gas analyser.
  • Controlled-route driving at fixed speed.
  • Engine torque and fuel data captured through the vehicle OBD system.
  • Accelerated testing to assess performance response.

Expanded verification programme

The second phase covers 18 buses and includes CANedge ECU monitoring, baseline testing, continuous live-data tracking, performance benchmarking and an undosed control vehicle.

  • Baseline measurement before Re4mx introduction.
  • Real-time monitoring of fuel and engine performance.
  • Assessment of power output and fuel waste.
  • Comparison against a control vehicle.

The programme supports the UAE’s wider energy-optimisation strategy by showing how existing standards-based fuels can be used more efficiently while alternative energy systems continue to develop.
